OWLS are CATS that FLY :)

I don't know when my fascination for owls began. Prolly, during Harry Potter times with the most adorable owl Hedwig or I've long before seen them (of course silly!) and adore them by then but I just adore them more now and openly! Anyhoo, The Boyfriend decided to take me to a Sundate yesterday as he prolly got tired of my whining on wanting badly to go to the mall! Well, it has been forever since the last time I or we went so it was a really perfect timing to go there yesterday! I didn't get to shop though because I am now hanging on to a cash that's being reserved for my fare tomorrow, but it was all good. We got to hitch a ride with his parents on the way to the city and once we got there we were treated by them to a sumptuous "snack" at Sbarro. They really are super wonderful people, I envy The Boyfriend a lot for having them and sometimes couldn't help wishing if they could adopt me one day. That's just some wishful thinking and besides if they're going to adopt me The Boyfriend will be my step brother! NO WAY! Hahaha! Also his parents do love me as though I were their own and I especially love his mom! ♥

On the other hand, I found out in the course of our malling that The Boyfriend had a couple of surprises for me!

One. He bought me a new regular bag. This is really going to be useful as I also have other plans (will have to tell you one day ;)) for its official use ;) And I love it so much because, aside from the fact that it was given by The Boyfriend, it's also very light to carry and big enough to house my hygiene, kikay, and gadget kits! Yes, I do carry a lot of smaller bags inside my bag! I just love to organize things and make it easier for me to look for the things that I need.

Two. The Legend of the Guardians: Owls of Ga'hoole. My smile literally went from ear to ear when he announced that we'd be watching the movie! Both of us were captivated with the trailer's OST from 30 Seconds to Mars, Kings and Queens, and how it gave an extremely dramatic effect to the trailer. We really love the song even before the movie ever came out with its irresistible trailer!

While waiting for show time, we decided to take a picture of ourselves with our desired owl. The Boyfriend is Metalbeak - one of the antagonists in the movie who is part of the Pure Ones. But in the book though it shows that Metalbeak and Kludd are one and the same owl. Hmmm...

I am cute little elf owl Gylfie. The Boyfriend wanted me to look like her or follow her expression at least but my small eyes failed me. So there I am with no match to Gylfie's cuteness!

Some screencaps from the movie. I found out that the movie is actually based on an epic fantasy book with a total of fifteen books in the series by Kathryn Lasky. Fifteen books and just one movie? Hmmm... I wonder if there could be a part 2, but it looks like there won't be though. We'll have to find out someday ;) Going back to the movie, it follows on the adventure of the young, brave, and ambitious (in a good way) Soren (a barn owl -- and if you get to watch the movie, you'll find out that all kinds of owls were there! And all of them emitting a cuteness in different ways!). The movie is like fables that we used to read from story books in grade school that takes us to an adventure with the main protagonist and then teaches us a lesson afterwards. Let me give you in bullets the lessons that I've learned from watching the movie:

Kludd: The Guardians win, lalalalala, they go home.
The end. Think about something *real*.
Soren: They're real.
  • Faith. There was actually another part of the movie where this is quoted most perfectly. I couldn't remember very well but I think it was Soren or their dad who told Kludd (his brother who took sibling rivalry to the extreme, as in to the point of endangering their lives!) that just because you can't see a thing/person doesn't mean that they're not real. You just have to believe, have faith and feel their presence in your heart.
Kludd: You have a soft head, Soren. Filled with stories, and dreams.
Soren: There's nothing wrong with dreams.
  • Dreaming could get us as far as we'd like to. People without dreams are people who remain stagnant and dissatisfied with life. They are the same people who will never find out what's behind the darkness that is blinding them. The same people who are unhappy with the situation they are in but never doing anything to correct it because they've convinced themselves that there's nothing really out there, no more than a horizon that comes and goes as the sun sets and rises.
Noctus: Legend tells of a band of noble warriors...
known as the Guardians of Ga'hoole.
Whenever trouble is at hand, seek them out.
For they are sworn to protect the innocent, and vanquish evil...
Should I stop?
  • Good always conquers bad. Need I say more on that?
Since I was a kid, I think this is prolly the second animated movie that I've ever watched in the big screen. I really am not a very good lover of the movies and I often fall asleep while watching, however, this movie didn't fail me at all! I really, really love the owls being so cuddly and full of wisdom they could pass as humans minus their feathery nature! The animation was superb and the storyline awesome and at the same time very intense! I'd give the movie an 8 out of 10. This is really going to be perfect to watch with the whole family, but make sure though to give a sound PG since some of the scenes are really bloody violent and not to mention, dark and may not be very suitable for overly young audiences. And yes, do watch it in 3D and feel the owls' wings as they swoop down from behind you ;)

The only thing I hate about the movie is the Owl City soundtrack. Just because it's an Owl movie it doesn't mean you have to put in an Owl City song in there! Was it really necessary?! I didn't even hear 30 Seconds to Mars in any part of the movie at all and that made it all the more disheartening! Oh pft. You really can't get everything though. Let me leave you with one funny dialog between Digger and Gylfie :D

Digger: Knock knock.
Gylfie: Who's there?
Digger: Owls.
Gylfie: Owls who?
Digger: Heh! That's right. Owls *hoo.*

My New Love: HOLLYWOODCRUSH.MTV.COM

despite the fact that my head is throbbing like mad because of lack of sleep and the seemingly never-ending calls coming... I can't help feeling SMITTEN. You would probably think I'm crazy for feeling such cuz the reason for my being SMITTEN is this:

During a trip to Thailand, Penn took cooking classes and learned how to whip up some sexy and exotic Thai dishes, saying they’re “spicy and quick and easy to make—and a rare thing to cook for a woman.”

“I think pineapple is very sexy,” Penn explained, “It reminds me of bikinis and the beach.” (Penn on his favorite recipe: Yellow Curry with Pineapple)

Awww... my heart just melt I swear! I feel soooo SMITTEN to the highest level! Haha! As if! Well, I can dream of Penn Badgley as much as I want to after all it's only in dreams that I could ever have him and dreaming is just definitely for free. So please let me keep my fantasies of Penn. :p But of course, I won't exchange The Boyfriend ever. Yes, not even... Penn.

Penn = Fantasy. The Boyfriend = Reality. HAPPINESS!

Don't I sound like a kid there? Yes, a kid going gaga over Johnny Bravo. Eek!

I haven't watched Episode 9, They Shoot Humphrey's, Don't They, of GGX yet and I really couldn't wait at all cuz there's just a lot, as in a LOOOTTT, to look forward to! For one, there will be an episode with Lady Gaga, The Last Days of Disco Stick. And then there's the intriguing "THREESOME" episode, I'm not sure if that's part of episode 10... but I'm pretty sure it's something really worth waiting for! We'll see who will be despised this time and who will be part of the threesome!

MORE READS ON MY EX-LOVER, PENN BADGLEY, HERE!!! =)

That should be it for now. I just needed some breather and good I had it. Thanksss hollywoodcrush.mtv.com! You just made my day today!

09.26.09 | 05:48:12 | weathering the storm

It's been raining endless (scratching that cuz I might have been exaggerating) for days and there's a storm coming... so, hello STORMY weekend.

I am such a loser... I haven't posted anything at all for the past days. I'm sorry. But I swear I'm gonna fill you up today with news about yours truly.

I guess the main reason why I wasn't able to write or blog is that I got too busy doing OTs (working mostly from 9pm to 9am) and I swear I've been having headaches cuz we've got very high call volume during the past couple or three weeks. I must admit... it was all too exhausting, I almost got sick! But good news dearies, my tummy is now working at its best! Thanks to the very efficient Doctor who prescribed me those very helpful medicines... now I'm stomach-ache free! Yay! I should celebrate, I should. =) And of course, I should remind myself now and then to give the snobs to sodas and coffee (although I seldom, seldom, seldom drink coffee!) and anything else that is acidic so that my stomach could fully recover from its almost dead state. I sure do feel lots better than before I started taking those meds. Gosh! I cant' believe how I've become such a drug addict in a short period of time. Hahaha! Of course I am kidding on being a drug addict! I swear I'm not!

Ok. Enough about that and let's move on. So... while I was away... I spent most of my limited free time on:

-catching up with sleep (sleeping at night is still the best remedy and the best way to detoxify!);

-reading this and this book =);

-watching some movies with The Boyfriend (we've finally finished watching the Terminator Salvation! Christian Bale was sooo hot in that movie!);

-I found a link for that movie 500 Days of Summer (I definitely love their OSTs! And I swear Zooey Deschannel does look like a lot like Katy Perry!!!) so I started to watch it but I got too lazy and impatient waiting for the stream to load I had to stop watching it after 45 minutes;

-a bit of shopping! I finally got myself these:

actually, The Boyfriend gave me that =) Included in the shopping were two new pair of jeans and a couple of dresses which I really, really LOVE (I don't have a picture of it yet though, but I'll update you as soon as I have!) I'm still looking forward to buying a few more dresses.

-celebrating our 14 months together over a sumptuous breakfast of pancakes and ground pork and corned beef and a heart-warming mushroom soup!

-convincing The Boyfriend to go to the beach on a rainy day. I sooo wanted to go because I had a new bikini to flaunt! Haha! But of course I didn't tell The Boyfriend that and it also wasn't the primary reason why I wanted to go anyway - I just wanted to get away from the city for a while and be with him and only him on our special day really :)

so to the beach we went :)
if you wanna see my skimpiness, you can click HERE
but don't blame me if you wouldn't like what you see! haha!

what else kept me busy... *thinking tight*

OH OF COURSE!

-watching The Vampire Diaries series. Elena is really pretty!

-watching the whole new season of GGX (as in Gossip Girl. I just wanna call it GGX!).

I guess... I was just living life the way God wanted me to live it... I am enjoying every moment of it! No matter how tiresome some days got and no matter how I wanted to give up already! Be proud of me cuz I'm still standing strong and HAPPY. =)

And oh! Yesterday, I had my fill of all of my cravings! Well, except for one: POPCORN! But Julie brought some Mojos from Shakey's and I was überly delighted! And then mum brought home some pomelo, lanzones, and sweet corn! I was very, very full - I definitely felt so bloated afterwards! I guess I will never be able to tell my success story on losing a good number of weight without dieting. Ugh! Eating is just too heavenly good to be said no to, right? Who can say NO to FOOD?! Nobody. Unless you're really crazy about your weight or something like it's already psychotic.

Ho-hum... I am just glad -super glad- that it is the weekend already! I could sleep the whole day and then prolly, if it doesnt' rain, go out with Lois and Juno later tonight at The Outpost to catch some good music (I've read from the B.I.T.E Mag that the place is going to play some Ska tonight. We'll see.) and then just enjoy the rest of my days off relaxing or sleeping, per se.

By the way, I just found a new craze (aside from my regular music-hunting)! Let me call it Tsin's Looklet Craze. =) I just love it and it's definitely soooo addictive! Haha! Here are my masterpieces (some beginner's stuff, really. nothing major!):

~they're pretty safe designs and mix-matches.
I always want to stay with comfort and elegance and a bit
(just a tiny bit) of craziness ;)

And right now, I am most looking forward to watching the Inglourious Basterds -- like supermassively! I've been waiting for sooo long so please let me watch already! Then there's the whole new season of Dexter by Monday! I couldn't wait as well!

Alright, time to wrap up now. I've got to go. Let me leave you with this picture of mine -- me wearing the neon pink sunglasses and crazy polka dress! I feel like a kid! Haha!

Is it me? Or is it really? Whenever those weather forecasters tell us there's going to be a storm the sun shines brightly outside... Hmmm... But yeah, I am aware that in another part of the world some are struggling to survive the very strong winds and the chilling rain and of course, praying that their homes won't get lost in the storm. I'll be praying for them, too.

i don't wannna wait,

-tSin

As Promised!

Sleep tonight
And may your dreams
Be realized
If the thundercloud
Passes rain

23:23:24 | 08.25.09 | hello the ashtray girl

27th Aug the Whole World is waiting for.............

Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August. It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. This will cultivate on Aug. 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles off earth. Be sure to watch the sky on Aug. 27 12:30 am. It will look like the earth has 2 moons.

The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287.

Share this with your friends as NO ONE ALIVE TODAY will ever see it again.

FOR REAL?! Haven't you heard about that Mars-going-near-the-earth story some 2 or 3 years ago???Hmmm... I wonder if that's really true and even if it was I don't think I would ever have the chance to see such phenomena cuz I'm pretty sure it's gonna rain once Earth smells Mars. It's probably allergic to it. ;p

***

Remember what I promised on my last entry? :) Yes, yes! Photos of my Bohol-Panglao Island (and more!) vacation! I know this is already a very late post almost rancid if this was food! Heheh! But nothing's gonna stop me from sharing my photos from the said vacation! Why? Because it was probably one of the best vacations I've ever had in the entire twenty plus years of my life! Although it was quite an expensive one, it was still fun and nothing could ever repay fun - not at all. It was also good to be staying in the island for two straight days with no worries and feeling like rich kids for a moment. :) Even the rainy Sunday weather didn't stop us from exploring the other surrounding islands of Panglao or Bohol. It was definitely an adventure with only the four of us -RV, Yo, Tim, and me- in a not very large pump boat braving the harsh sea filled with seemingly gigantic waves! In case you're wondering what got me to Bohol on a rainy August, we were there to celebrate Yo's 23rd birthday. Now the photos? Yes? Yes!

On the first day, Saturday, August 15, we familiarized ourselves with the place. We arrived in Panglao island at about 3P.M and went straight to our hotel, the Alona Kew White Beach Resort. I liked it very much! Probably not the nicest place to stay in the island but the people there were really great and nice and courteous plus our rooms were really comfortable (although not airconditioned! heheh...). Well, in the unfortunate times of recession, comfort and convenience is all that matters!

Photos of our room and the beach (or the quay! well, with all of those boats parked right there
who wouldn't mistake them for a quay?!).

We also decided to take it slow and easy on the first day so as not to overwhelm our already giddy selves. I went around the area and found some masseuse and got excited with the idea of getting a massage by the beach! I havent' slept a bit since I went straight to the port for my one hour and forty-five minutes trip from my shift the previous night. The massage at P250.00 for each of us will really be a good way to unwind after a very stressful week! And The Boyfriend offered to treat me for massage cuz he knows I'm a total sucker for such! Hoorah FREE massage! =)

Yo asleep with the bliss of the massage!

Tim and his masseuse looking at the camera, expectant already
for that shot :D

And me of course! Totally enjoying the massage! Especially when my
own masseuse worked on my head - it was like all the stress from all of my body
went out!

After the heavenly massage I fell asleep for about three hours before dinner was served and The Boyfriend woke me up with the dinner menu. Hearing the word "grilled" I immediately jumped out of the bed on cue and ran into the shower for a quick bath before heading to the beachside.

The food was good and eating by the beachside made the dinner even more sumptuous! There were also some men who serenaded us over dinner. Forgive me for the lack of word, but I honestly really don't know what they are called exactly. They were really good and even sang that ever famous Yoyoy Revillame song - Bochikik. We couldn't help singing with them ourselves! Haha! Afterwards, Yo and I went to the pool for a quick dip (no photos cuz RV didn't upload the photos from his camera yet). We only swam for like fifteen minutes and the rest of the evening was spent listening to some good live music from a resort nearby. I should say the singer of the band and the band, actually, was good as in really, really good! Although the singer has to work on some of his diction. :S But in fairness, they were really good they could lull me to sleep by the bay in a good way! They do know how to play their instruments, too. So there! We were just starting to enjoy listening to them when the rain started to pour leaving us with no choice but to retreat to our rooms and hope and pray that God will give us good weather the next day since we were planning to watch dolphins at the break of dawn.

On the second day, Sunday, August 16, I pulled the curtains open to check the weather. Lo and behold! Gray skies said good morning to me and I then shook The Boyfriend awake and told him of the bad news. He couldn't help groaning with frustration and I tried to cheer him up and convince him that it's going to be alright and that the sun will come out in a matter of minutes and that it was too early to worry. It was already 5:30 AM. The boat was scheduled to pick us up at about the same time. The vaporous air outside confirmed the gloomy weather and I couldn't help but sigh. It's definitely goodbye dolphins or rather, goodbye dolphin watching. :(

Heartbroken by the news, we ate our breakfast sullen. And funny RV was like, "Feast on! This could be our last meal!" Haha! I know. Crazy. The four of us were quite dubious as to pushing through with the island hopping sans the dolphin watching (with the sea as disturbed, I doubt if the dolphins would ever leave their place in the sea just to put on a show for us) because the sea really looked bad with the threatening waves and all! We had to ask the locals if it was safe to sail and they were confident enough to assure us that we can still go island hopping and get back to the resort alive and complete! We decided to take their word for it and we found ourselves on a pumpboat jumping on and dodging the waves.

us having breakfast.
pineapples and watermelons
and hotdogs and marmalades!
nyam!

not really something that could turn our knees into butter, right?

So where did we go? We insisted to find some dolphins and after almost an hour of hunting and hoping for dolphins to come out and sail with us... we gave up. Our first stop: Balicasag Island. I had so much fun feeding the fishes with some onion flavoured skyflakes! And it felt so wonderful to be swimming, head to head, with them! I almost didn't want to leave or stop swimming with them. Heheh... Too bad we didn't have an underwater camera to capture the moment with them fishes. :( Anyhooser, here are some photos of us in the island:

getting ready and securing ourselves for a rough sail!

the island and the guides: the locals who takes the
guests to the fish sanctuary via banca at Php150.00 per person
and that's good to sawa. makes it all worth it!

taking a break and I say: GOD BLESS AMERICA FOR LAY'S! :D

The Boyfriend striking a pose with the locals

random photos from Balicasag Island. :)

Our next stop: the Virgin Island. I heard a guide from another group of guests said something about the original name of the island but I guess I was too taken by the sight of the place that it didn't really register at all. A little background on the Virgin Island? It is said that the island may be 250 meters and 50 meters wide during low tide. And it looks like this:

yes, like a desert with an oasis! :) and that's Yo right there.

this is right at the middle of the sea -
so when it's high tide this area should really be filled with water.

the tree that caught our fancy.
we couldn't stop taking photos in this spot! :)

more photos plus the birch tree kid...
isn't she lovely and cute and adorable? :D

these photos were taken by our boatman.
lovely!

After having our fill of poses and photographs we finally decided to call it a day and went back to our resort. I missed the sunset again cuz I fell asleep and woke up at about 9pm this time almost missing dinner! RV, The Boyfriend and I stayed up until about 12 midnight after dinner. Yo was too tired to stay up with us so she retired to bed first. We hung out by the shore and again listened to that live music that was offered by the resort next to ours. And same as the previous night they played some really feel-good music and we all went to sleep with smiles on our faces. Heheh.

On the last day, Monday, August 17, The Boyfriend and I woke up earlier than the other couple - as usual. And I put on the swimsuit that I've probably reserved for this day. I've bought this some months ago and didn't really get the chance to wear it until our last day in Panglao!

Isn't that cute? It's a one piece suit and it's really sexy!

And The Boyfriend, I think, likes it, too. Heheh... We went for a swim a bit and had breakfast. Later on RV and Yo joined us, but Yo didn't spend much time in the sun anymore cuz she said she's too burnt from the swim yesterday. I watched the boys play in the sand and they also built some sandcastles!

hahah! kids!
yeah, I gave them the freedom to feel like kids for a while :)

now they're starting to build the castles!

and I couldn't help disturbing them!
hehe...

The Boyfriend's Pyramids in Bohol

RV's stained glass castle (I made up the name!)

And then it was finally time to go. RV and Yo had to go home first because my trip back home doesn't leave until about four in the afternoon and of course, The Boyfriend had to stay with me. We waited at the Island City Mall and checked out how much they charge for the cinemas. And the moment we found out that the most expensive is only at P90.00 we then decided to give it a go and we watched G.I Joe. On the movie: not as impressive as they said it was. Or probably we were just expecting too much.

So there you go. A share of my Bohol vacay. Whew! Were they very loaded with photos? Not? You can view the rest of the photos in my multiply site: cheezenibbles.multiply.com. Although you will still need to log in to view my photos - I have kept them private since... since! :p

I hope you enjoyed the photos. And you should go visit Panglao, too! There's this 5-star resort there named Eskaya which is really, really nice. You can stay there if you can afford to and it will be very, very worth it! :D

do you need a break?

06.26.09 | 04:32:00 | no out there

Nothing much to say today except that I find that stiletto up there really adorable! I'm sooo digging shoes like that these days and I don't know why. Although every time I get the chance to go to the mall or something I always unconsciously find myself looking at the flat step-ins or peep-a-toes! Duh. And actually, ending up buying nothing at all or probably ending up buying some dresses or new tops! CRAAZZY! As usual. But honestly, it's been a month now since I've bought anything at all! Shoot the time for recovery, including the recovery for my expenses! :((

Anyhooser, we -RV, Yo, Tim, and Me- watched the second installation of Transformers, Transformers: The Revenge of the Fallen today! It was good, but I gave it an overall rating of eight (8). Probably cuz it's not as good as the first one or because I was expecting too much - cuz most people are saying that it was really SUPER NICE. Not very nor super. Although I should say the movie is really funny, what more with the nuisanic presence of Leo Spitz (Ramon Rodriguez) and the jestering powers of Agent Simmons (John Turturro) - I just couldn't stop laughing when he finally joined in the scene! And I couldn't help swooning over Major Lennox (Josh Duhamel) never mind Shia, every girl is already swooning over him!

So now the photos (all courtesy of the All Movie Photo site!):

of course, first up! Major Lennox!
zin't he adorable?

I am also a big fan of Optimus Prime

it's for you not to believe!

How cool could it be if the Autobots do exist and work hand in hand with our soldiers in keeping the world safe?! Way above the cool-meter, right? Most especially, if the Decepticons choose to stay in Cybertron! :D

Whew! It does still feel like I am still in the midst of these transforming beasts and beauties and not planning to get the hang of it just yet. *wink*

Before I leave the cyberworld and drift off to sleep let me give you some dose of LML today. I personally found this very funny and as most of the posts in the LML site this one's from an anonymous contributor. You can go ahead and ROFL!

"Today I told the police that somebody might be stalking me.
They asked if I was famous.

I said no but I plan to be, I'm just letting you know in advance."

And by the way, news just came out that Michael Jackson just died today at the age of 50! Poor guy. How are all those sold out tickets in London gonna go? Tsktsk.

come dance with me, ballet shoes,

By the way here's a trailer of the movie for those
who haven't watched it yet. ;)
